Charges

The cost (including VAT) of advertising properties on Aberystwyth University Studentpad is for a set advertising period. The specific dates of the advertising period will be provided when you create your advert; however, is normally between November – November offering a maximum of around a 12 month advertising period. Please note, that should you decide to advertise your property after the start date of the advertising period then you will have a shorter advertising period.

The cost (including VAT) is as follows:

Per property advertisement£ 40.00

When you are invited to make the payment(s) you will also be provided with a ‘Valid From’ and ‘Valid Until’ date on your invoice, so please ensure that you check the details to understand how long your property will be advertised for based on your payment.

Please make sure payment is made before your advert is due to go live. Please be aware that if your advert is in a future letting period, you will be sent a reminder when payment can be made.


Register Online

To register online you are required to complete the following 3 steps:

  1. Register an account:
    1. Your Details
    2. Your Address
    3. Create Account
  2. Add a Property:
    1. Find your property
    2. Add property information (including photographs – not compulsory but recommended!)
    3. Create an advert to advertise your Property
  3. Provided your property is approved by the Accommodation Office you will be sent a confirmation e-mail where you will then be required to pay for your order using our online payment system.
Licencing/Certification

If your property requires a HMO Licence:

  1. You are required to provide the Licence number/HMO Reference number in the Certification section on the form. Please note that we seek confirmation from Ceredigion County Council that the HMO Licence is valid prior to approving any properties for advertisement.
  2. You are also required to provide copies of Gas/Electrical certificates (if applicable) in the Certification section on the form. You will need to remember to update the expiry dates and provide new certificates in order for your property to continue to be advertised.

If your property does not require a HMO Licence:

Rent Smart Wales

Rent Smart Wales process landlord registrations and grant licences to landlords and agents who need to comply with the Housing (Wales) Act 2014.

Rhentu Doeth Cymru | Rent Smart Wales

Under the Housing (Wales) Act 2014, there are new legal obligations on landlords who have rental property in Wales and agents who undertake letting and management work at rental properties in Wales on behalf of landlords.

Any landlord who has a rental property in Wales which is rented on an assured, assured short hold or regulated tenancy is required to register. Depending on how a property is owned will determine who needs to register it.

In order to act as an agent in Wales, the individual or company must become licensed.

All registrations are done with Rent Smart Wales and landlords/agents operating anywhere in Wales can comply with the new law by completing the appropriate application on the Rent Smart Wales website.

In order for your property to be approved to be advertised you will need to provide evidence that you have done this in the Certification section on the online property form.

Register by Post

If you do not have access to register online then alternatively you can register by completing a paper form.
To do this please print and complete the below Accommodation Advertisement Form and post/deliver it to the Accommodation Office (see contact details below).
Please refer to the Licencing/Certification section above which also applies for the paper form.
Photographs when completing paper form:
We recommend including photographs of the property and to do this you can either provide a memory stick with the saved images on or send an e-mail to the Accommodation Office with attachments of the requested images.
Payment when completing paper form:
Once your property details have been loaded onto Studentpad a member of staff from the Accommodation Office will contact you in order to take an online payment from you using a credit/debit card. For each property there is an additional £10 administration charge to process paper forms.
